In itself, this IS a form of praise: the mangaka has successfully created something to which the readers will strongly react, he (assuming it’s a “he”, sheer intuition) successfully corrupted a series’ spirit, introducing ugly real world facts into what used to be unadulterated teenage purity.
So, brace yourselves. The heroine of Kimi No Na Wa, Mitsuha, is now a young adult. She’s in a state of mental confusion, as if she’s on unsteady footing, a bit lost between worlds and identities. In other words: mentally fragile, weak to pressure, unable to say no, lacking resolve. Meat for the grinder.
Your typical spoiled rich asshole, dealing with rape drugs and at the head of a rape circle, takes an interest in her, he wants her to abandon her vague aspirations to meet her special one. He wants to be her special one, and nothing will stop him. And that dumb version of Mitsuha will waver – but will she finally give in?
If you like netorare and/or netori, you’re in for a treat. If you don’t, this is rage hentai material, you’ll want to facepalm a hundred times.
Seriously, this is batshit crazy, it’s a setup in which spiking drinks is apparently the common standard, and it deserves no worse than a small slap on the hand. In which kidnapping a girl out of jealousy and keeping her tied is called “having in custody”, for fuck’s sake
