I’m half a year late in sharing those volumes, I was reluctant to share them, for 2 reasons.
First, that was frustration-generating: the scans looked bad (especially the 1st volume), there was no way I could share them on Hentairules before retouching them… and I’m not skilled enough with photoshop to produce a result that would leave me satisfied.
Second, the scenario is “meh”, which is a disappointment from a mangaka like Simon.
Ah, well, let’s get it done. Shiki is a rising idol, she loves her producer, and… and things don’t work properly, this time. She and the producer both have their own issues and communications disorders, they have difficulties establishing a working relationship, they’re morally and physically tired… I’m not saying the 2 volumes are an existentialist manifesto, but I was left ill at ease, uncomfortable, with a story that led nowhere…
Graphically, call me biased, but I got the same impression that was sub-par compared to other Simon works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Still, I tried to help with the images, because those scans looked awful, full of spotty surfaces, under levelled, and with colour artifacts in the first volume. I know it’s poor-looking hack improvement, but I’m sorry, I couldn’t do better. Volume 1: before/after; volume 2: before/after.
Release credits are for CrowKarasu and Tempered Translations, thank you!
